Agency Initiates Changes to Nomadic Telephony Regulations

The Communications Regulatory Agency has approved a public consultation process for amendments to the regulations around the provision of “nomadic telephony” services by providers of public fixed telephone. Regulations need to be modernized in order to take into account the development of electronic communications and the emergence of new services, bearing in mind the practice of regulators in the region and the EU.

The amendments will define the conditions for the provision of services to users of numbers intended for the “nomadic subscriber” service that can be provided by all fixed networks providers.
