Memory Wall Unveiled at Kovači Cemetery

Sarajevo Canton’s fund for maintenance of memorial cemeteries for fighters killed in the Bosnian war unveiled a “memory wall” at the Kovači memorial cemetery. The wall contains the names of over six thousand mainly Bosniak Muslim members of the Bosnian army and the police force who died in Sarajevo during the 1992-1995 war.

The wall was unveiled by representatives of the veterans’ organizations, the authorities of Sarajevo Canton, the Centar and Stari Grad municipalities, the local Islamic Community ans some of the wartime commanders of Bosnian army in Sarajevo.

According to a member of the memorial fund, the wall was designed to allow adding names to it.
