Morgan Freeman was in Bosnia last week, where material for his upcoming documentary series was shot. The Academy Award winning actor was in Srebrenica, the eastern Bosnia town that was the site of the 1995 genocide, committed during the Bosnian war. The footage shot at Srebrenica will be used in his The Story of Us With Morgan Freeman series, approved by the National Geographic in April this year.
The series will be produced by Freeman’s Revelations Entertainment, which also produced The Story of God With Morgan Freeman. In this expansion of the franchise, Freeman will once again take viewers on a global journey to meet with people from all cultures whose lives are shaped in surprising ways by different fundamental forces. Each of the six hour-long episodes will explore a single fundamental force or topic, including love, belief, power, war and peace, rebellion and freedom. The series will premiere in fall 2017.
The Srebrenica genocide was the July 1995 execution of more than 8,000 Muslim Bosniaks, mainly men and boys, in and around the town of Srebrenica during the Bosnian war.
