The express passenger rail service Sarajevo-Čapljina-Sarajevo was reintroduced at the Sarajevo railway station. The first train departed Thursday afternoon. A ceremony organized on the occasion in Sarajevo was attended by the Federation entity prime minister Fadil Novalić, who said the trust of citizens in the railway transportation should be rebuilt.
General Manager of the Federation Railways, Enis Džafić, said the company will launch a summer season service between Sarajevo and Čapljina with a bus connection to the coastal town of Neum. He said that the company plans a Sarajevo-Banja Luka service, in cooperation with the Republika Srpska Railways.
Džafić said the railway Bosanski Novi-Bihać will be electrified before starting the Sarajevo-Bihać passenger service.
