The Swedish Embassy in Sarajevo exhibited photos of stay-at-home dads in that country, in a bid to encourage a discussion on the role of fathers and the parental leave for fathers as an important step in achieving gender equality.

The street exhibition features photos of a selected group of fathers who decided to stay at home and take care of their newborns for a period of at least six months. Photographer Johan Bävman examines why those fathers decided to be stay-at-home dads and how that experience changed the relationship with their parents and children. The aim of the exhibition is to show the effect of gender equality in parenting on an individual and the society.

The exhibition of 25 photos, set at the entrance to the Swedish Embassy in Sarajevo, is a joint project of the Swedish Institute, Sweden Embassy and Print Design Sarajevo. Early birds that stopped by had Swedish cinnamon cookies and Swedish coffee.
