Fire alarms and a video surveillance system are now installed in all buildings of the Bosnian National Museum in Sarajevo, said the commission for preservation of the national monuments. The equipment and money for its installation were donated by the United States Embassy to Bosnia, or the Ambassador’s fund for the protection of cultural heritage.
The effort is part of a conservation project carried out in the Museum. The $625,000 project is financed by the US Embassy and implemented by the commission for preservation of the national monuments.
The primary conservation project is supposed to stop or slow down degradation of the Museum archives by applying high standards of protection and creating optimum conditions for conservation.
