Police searched several homes in Sarajevo and detained one person on suspicion of terrorism, media reported earlier on Wednesday. According to reports, officers of the state investigation and protection agency searched homes of several persons suspected of having links with extreme groups and volunteers in Syria and Iraq war zones.
“The searches were conducted to find illegals arms, ammunition or explosive materials; certain individuals will be detained for questioning. The searched premises (are believed to be occupied by) a person who was deported to Bosnia from Austria,” said the state prosecution.
The detained person was taken to the state investigation and protection agency custody for questioning. The prosecution will decide on further steps based on the interview with the suspect.
