The 2017 Italian Culture Season in Bosnia will open September 16 with a concert of a popular Italian singer in Sarajevo’s National Theater. The Season, earlier known as the annual Month of Italian Culture in Bosnia, is organized by the Italian embassy to Bosnia.
According to the organizers, a number of events are planned in several Bosnian cities during the Italian Culture Season. Vinicio Capossela’s concert in Sarajevo’s National Theater will open the season on September 16. Capossela will also have concerts in Banja Luka two days later and in Mostar on September 20.
A ballet troupe from Sienna will perform in Sarajevo’s City Hall on September 25 and in Tuzla two days later. The Motus Danza troupe will present their work called Discrimination, which is inspired by the City Hall.
An international literature festival in Zenica, planned to be held September 29-30, will host fifteen Italian authors who will present their work. Also on September 30, a Milan puppet theater will stage two plays at Sarajevo’s Youth Theater, one for children and one for adult audience.
As part of Sarajevo Jazz Festival, Italian jazz theoretician Francesco Martinelli will give two lectures on 3 and 4 November. The final event of the Season is a concert of the Italian International Orchestra on November 28 at Sarajevo’s Armed Forces House. The orchestra will play baroque and movie music.
