The Sarajevo Canton government has advised licensed driving education providers to inform candidates about a set of clothing rules that apply when taking a driver’s license test. According to a July memo from the ministry of education, science and youth issues, failure to follow the dress code is grounds for not letting the candidate take the test.
The ministry defined two sets of rules, one for men and one for women, which are supposed to make sure that the driver’s test candidates are “decently and orderly dressed”.
The men’s clothes deemed inappropriate are short pants, sleeveless shirts, slippers and flip-flops. The women’s clothes list is expectedly longer: any piece of clothing that reveals too much cleavage, low back shirts, sleeveless shirts, any combination of the two, skirts and pants shorter than five centimeters above the knees when standing, slippers and flip-flops.
