Slovenian Defense Minister Visits EUFOR

Commander of the European Union force in Bosnia, Major General Anton Waldner, welcomed Slovenia’s Minister of Defense, Andreja Katič, to EUFOR Headquarters in Sarajevo.

Minister Katič was accompanied by the Slovenian Ambassador, the Chief of Staff of the General Staff of Slovenia, and members of the Slovenian Parliamentary Defense Committee. They met with EUFOR commander and experts to discuss the current security situation in Bosnia, as well as the role that EUFOR plays in supporting the Bosnian authorities maintain a safe and secure environment.

Slovenian military personnel are among EUFOR’s in-theater troops. Slovenia is one of 14 EU and 5 partner nations serving together in EUFOR and working with the Bosnian law enforcement agencies and armed forces to maintain a safe and secure environment for the country as it moves towards membership in the EU.
