The construction of a road connecting the mainland with Bosnia’s only coastal town will start next month, the government of Federation entity said.
The contract value of construction of the road connecting the town of Stolac in southern Bosnia with Neum is KM 11.9 million. The government said that the construction will be financed with loans from the European Investment Bank and the World Bank.
Local construction company Integral inženjering was awarded the contract to build the first lot of the Stolac-Neum road. The second lot will be built by a consortium of companies including HP Investing from Mostar and Putevi from Grude.
Currently, a narrow rural road connects the Neum stretch of the Adriatic coast with the rest of the country. The usual route goes through Croatia.
