A theater play exploring the issues of displacement and refugees, and set in a public swimming pool, will be staged again on March 3 and 4 in Sarajevo.
The “Welcome” play, produced by Kontakt, is the work of a group of artists who explored the issues arising from the refugee crisis and the thousands of refugees and migrants from the Middle East and North Africa who risk everything to reach Europe. The play is staged at Sarajevo’s Otoka swimming pool.
The cast includes some of the most talented Bosnian actors: Maja Izetbegović, Ermin Bravo, Boris Ler, Amar Selimović nad Sanin Milavić. The play is directed by Nermin Hamzagić.
Kontakt, an organization for development and research of performing arts in Bosnia, works to promote independent and socially engaged production of performing arts. Producing plays in local communities, the organization advocates the rights of minorities and vulnerable groups, and raises awareness on the importance of activism and individual action.
