The third edition of a festival promoting Ireland’s culture will be held March 16 and 17 in Sarajevo. This year, the events will be organized at three locations in the city.
On the first day of the Sarajevo Irish Festival, three events will be held at the Bosnian Armed Forces House. The gala opening is scheduled for 19:30h, followed by a concert at 20h. Dónal Lunny and Padraig Rynne concert is by invitation only, but a spot can be reserved by contacting the organizers. At 21h, the Broken House Band will play as well at the House.
On the second day of the festival, an Irish dance flash mob will pop up at the Mercator mall in Ložionička street, at 11h. At 14h, movie “Maze” will be screened at the Obala Meeting Point cinema. Based on the true story of the 1983 mass break-out of 38 prisoners from the HMP Maze high security prison, Maze is a gripping prison break film that follows the relationship between two men on opposite sides of the prison bars. The screening will be preceded by a Q&A session with the director and producer at 13:30h.
At 15:45h, live stream of an Ireland vs. England rugby match will be organized at the cinema, followed by a closing party.
