Late Singer Honored in Sarajevo

Family and friends bid farewell to a Bosnian singer who passed away last week. Sabahudin Kurt was honored with a small ceremony at a national broadcaster’s music studio in Sarajevo.

Sabahudin Kurt was born in 1935 in Sarajevo. He recorded his debut song Dim u tvojim očima (Smoke in Your Eyes) at the age of 19, in 1954. Since then, he released several singles and personal albums, with his latest being Zlatni jubilej, released in 2004.

In 1966, he married his wife Ismeta, with whom he had two sons, Damir and Almir.

Following a history of health problems that began in the 2000’s, affecting his heart function, he decided to move to the Bosnian countryside and spend the recent years there.
