Italian Photography Month in Bosnia Opens on Monday with an Exhibition

A photo exhibition in the History Museum in Sarajevo will open this year’s Italian Photography Month in Bosnia.

The “Borderline – Frontiers of Peace” exhibition by Valerio Vincenzo will open on Monday, April 9, at 19h, said the Italian Embassy in Bosnia. The exhibition is the first of a number of photography-themed events that the Embassy will organize in April.

Photos taken by Vincenzo feature lesser-known scenes from border areas in several European countries, articulating the imaginary quality of borders juxtaposed to nature and landscape. The author confronts the traditional understanding of a border as a place of separation to a perception of the imaginary lines as a point of crossing and unity, shared by millions of the European Union citizens.

The Sarajevo exhibition will also feature photos that the author took last summer in Bosnia’s border areas.
