An election rally of Turkey’s president will be organized in Sarajevo on May 20, a month before the country’s parliamentarian and presidential election.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s rally will be organized in Sarajevo’s Zetra hall, according to the organizer, a Germany-based organization of European Turkish democrats. Zetra is the city’s biggest indoor venue, built for the 1984 Winter Olympics. It’s maximum capacity is 20,000 seats.
According to the media reports, the rally is organized for the Turkish nationals living in Europe, as several European governments banned the Turkish president’s party from organizing election rallies in their countries.
Turkey will hold early elections on June 24. The country president’s broader powers, approved in a referendum, will kick in after the elections.
